On the 29th of September, I did some promotional work with Lions Tamahere in the lead up to the launch of their new E-Trike, in partnership with RIverside Adventures, on Saturday the 5th of October. They managed to raise $25,000 through fundraisers and other donations for the bike. As part of the promotional content, the Cambridge news wrote an article about the launch of the new bike.

By funding this bike, Lions Tamahere Club have provided a new opportunity for people with mobility challenges - particularly those who are unable to power a bike themselves, to travel from the Cambridge Velodrome to anywhere accessible by bike, including the Te Awa River Ride.

At the launch, I rode the bike around for roughly a kilometre, demonstrating what a thrill it is be able to experience speed, whilst feeling safe and secure.

As I have already mentioned, this new bike will open up a world of opportunities for people with mobility issues to experience the thrill of cycling and enjoy being out in nature with the sun, wind (and rain!) on their faces. The Te Awa River Ride is a personal favourite of mine. This cycle way provides beautiful views of both the Waikato river and the native bush that the track runs through. Definitely, go along to the velodrome and experience this ride for yourself!

Below, is a link on how to access the bike .
